The beckoning cat (maneki-neko) has long been cherished as a lucky charm.

September 29th is designated as "Maneki-neko Day" based on the Japanese wordplay of "ku-ru" (9), "fu" (2), and "ku" (9), which sounds like "Kuru Fuku" (good fortune coming).

This anniversary was established in 1995 by the Japan Manekineko Club, an organization for maneki-neko enthusiasts.

It was created out of the idea that we should take at least one day a year to thank the maneki-neko for always waving their paws to beckon good fortune for us🐾

Generally speaking,
