🐈 September 1st is "Ginger Cat Appreciation Day."

September 1st is Ginger Cat Appreciation Day! 🐈🧡

Ginger cats are adorable with their bright orange fur and striped patterns.

Today is a day to rediscover the charm of ginger cats and express our gratitude to them 🐾

This time, we'll introduce how "Ginger Cat Appreciation Day" came into being, along with the charm of ginger cats.

🧡 How did "Ginger Cat Appreciation Day" come about?

The inspiration for this commemorative day came from American software developer Chris Roy and his beloved ginger cat, Doobert.

Roy met Doobert in 1997 and they spent 17 years together.

After Doobert passed away in 2014, Roy began thinking about what he could do for animals and started activities to connect animal shelters with volunteers.

And so, "Ginger Cat Appreciation Day" on September 1st was born, filled with gratitude for his precious beloved cat.

It's a very heartwarming commemorative day born from the love for one ginger cat, isn't it? 🐈

🐾 What kind of cat is a ginger cat?

"Ginger" is not a cat breed, but rather a term for their coat pattern.

They are characterized by their orange or brown base color with darker striped patterns.

Even among ginger cats, the intensity of their fur color and the way their stripes appear vary from cat to cat.

The patterns on their faces, the stripes on their tails, and the color of their bellies are all unique to each individual, which is part of their charm 😽

When it comes to ginger cats, many people probably have the image of them being affectionate and friendly, don't they? 😽

We also hear stories of ginger cats being easygoing and laid-back, or big eaters 🐾

Of course, each cat has its own unique personality.

Some are a little timid, some are very active, and some are independent — each has its own distinct cuteness 🧡

🐈 Say "Thank You" to Ginger Cats

"Ginger Cat Appreciation Day" is not a day where you have to do anything special.

You could spend some extra quality time with your ginger cat, or look back at old photos.

It might also be nice to pay a little more attention to the ginger cats you see in town or on social media 🐾

Even if you don't live with a ginger cat, please take a moment today to think about these cute ginger cats ♡
