The "Nouvelle" series, meaning "new" in French.

This is a long wallet newly designed from scratch to create a new standard for Philosophy's long wallets.

It is a compact wallet that fits into small bags and is compatible with the cashless trend.

The small zippered long wallet "Nouvelle ZIP" achieves the smallest and thinnest class for a zippered long wallet.

Surprisingly small and thin

While being the smallest class for a zippered type, the "Nouvelle ZIP" is even thinner than the small leather flap long wallet "Nouvelle" (approx. 20mm thick), achieving an overwhelmingly compact thickness of 13mm.

Once you use it, you won't be able to go back to large, heavy long wallets; it's a mini long wallet that will change your lifestyle.

At approximately the same size as a 10,000 yen bill (160mm width x 76mm height) – 165mm width x 83mm height – it is the minimum size for a zippered long wallet.

Minimal and Luxurious

Small wallets often tend to look cheap. If you prioritize miniaturization and weight reduction too much, using thin leather or omitting lining to cut costs can result in a wallet that feels cheap.

The "Nouvelle ZIP" is crafted with a luxurious finish by applying Philosophy's long-cultivated bespoke leather product manufacturing techniques to high-quality Japanese leather.

While using soft shrink leather that fits comfortably in the hand as the main material, it is reinforced with appropriate interlining to prevent it from losing its shape even after long use, and the interior uses firm embossed leather.

Though small, this wallet allows you to feel the quality texture of genuine leather and the excellence of its craftsmanship.

Convenient Back Pocket

We've added a large pocket to the exterior back.

The pocket is 150mm wide, making it very convenient for temporarily storing receipts, tickets, and the like.

The back pocket is seamlessly connected to the main body of the wallet, keeping it thin and giving it a discreet, smart appearance.

Bills can be separated into two compartments

We have achieved both the common request from many wallet orders to "store bills in two separate compartments" and wallet miniaturization with our unique structure.

There are two bill compartments, one in front of and one behind the coin purse, allowing for flexible use, such as separating bills or separating bills and receipts.

The seamless gusset design inherits the style of Philosophy's long-selling wallet, "Fleur."

The absence of seams in the gusset allows bills to fit snugly to the back, contributing to the wallet's compact size.

The partition between bills and coins is not fixed and moves freely, ensuring bills fit all the way to the back even when the number of bills increases.

The secret to a snag-free zipper

When using a small zippered wallet, the biggest concern is whether the zipper will damage bills.

To achieve both a compact wallet body and ease of zipper use, the "Nouvelle ZIP" uses a rather rare [YKK Excella No. 2 zipper] for wallets.

Compared to zippers used in typical long wallets (No. 3 or No. 5 zippers), the No. 2 zipper has narrower teeth and a smaller slider, making it less likely to snag bills.

Furthermore, the narrower teeth allow for an incredibly thin body of 11mm, and 13mm including the back pocket.

The size of the wallet body was adjusted in 1mm increments while repeatedly checking its usability.

Easy access to important cards

When you open the zipper, you'll find a dedicated "VIP card" pocket prominently placed in front of the coin purse.

This pocket holds 2-3 cards.

Store your frequently used "VIP cards" in this VIP spot.

There are two card pockets deep inside, each capable of holding about 3 cards stacked, for a total of approximately 6 cards.

The card pockets have ample width, so they can accommodate cards slightly larger than credit cards.

Less card imprints over time

There are no card pockets on the front of the main body.

This prevents card or coin indentations from showing on the surface, ensuring the leather does not deform even after long use.

Overwhelmingly easy-to-use coin purse

When you open the zipper, a large-capacity coin purse space opens wide.

Not only coins, but also bills and cards are clearly visible.

Overwhelmingly large capacity. It's fine even if you put this many coins in (though it will get heavy).

While the coin purse doesn't have a zipper, rest assured that it's designed so coins won't leak into other compartments when the outer zipper is closed.
