The "Nouvelle" series, meaning "new" in French.

This long wallet was designed from scratch to create Filosophy's new standard long wallet.

It's a compact wallet that fits in small bags and is compatible with a cashless lifestyle.

The small zippered long wallet, "Nouvelle ZIP," achieves the smallest and thinnest class for a zippered long wallet.

Astonishingly Small and Thin

The "Nouvelle ZIP" is not only in the smallest class for a zippered type but also achieves an overwhelmingly compact thickness of 13mm, even thinner than the small leather flap long wallet "Nouvelle" (approx. 20mm thick).

Once you use it, you won't be able to go back to large, heavy long wallets; it's a mini long wallet that will change your lifestyle.

With dimensions (width 165mm x height 83mm) almost identical to a 10,000 yen bill (width 160mm x height 76mm), it is the minimum size for a zippered long wallet.

Minimalist and Luxurious

Small wallets can often look cheap. If you prioritize miniaturization and lightness to the extent of using thin leather or omitting lining to cut costs, the wallet ends up looking inexpensive.

The "Nouvelle ZIP" uses high-quality Japanese leather and incorporates Filosophy's long-cultivated bespoke leather product manufacturing techniques to achieve a luxurious finish.

While using soft shrink leather that feels comfortable in the hand as the main material, it is reinforced with appropriate core materials to maintain its shape even after prolonged use, and the interior uses firm embossed leather.

Despite its small size, this wallet allows you to feel the exquisite texture and quality craftsmanship of genuine leather.

Convenient Back Pocket

We've added a large pocket on the back exterior.

The pocket is 150mm wide, making it very convenient for temporarily storing receipts or tickets.

The back pocket is seamlessly connected to the main body of the wallet, which keeps the thickness down and gives it a discreet and smart appearance.

Two Compartments for Bills

Through numerous wallet orders, a common request was to "store bills in two separate places." We've achieved this desire for two bill compartments while also miniaturizing the wallet, thanks to a unique structure.

There are two bill compartments, one in front of and one behind the coin purse, allowing for flexible use, such as separating different types of bills or separating bills from receipts.

The gusset, free of stitching, inherits the design ethos of Filosophy's long-selling Fleur wallet.

The absence of stitching on the gusset ensures that bills fully enter the wallet, contributing to its compact size.

The partition between bills and coins is not fixed and moves freely, allowing bills to be fully inserted even when the quantity increases.

The Secret to a Zipper That Won't Catch Bills

When using a small zippered wallet, the biggest concern is whether the zipper will damage bills.

To balance miniaturization of the wallet body with ease of zipper use, the "Nouvelle ZIP" adopts the rare (for wallets) [YKK Excella No. 2 zipper].

Compared to zippers typically used in long wallets (No. 3 or No. 5 zippers), the No. 2 zipper has narrower metal teeth and a smaller slider, making it less likely to catch bills.

Furthermore, the narrowness of the metal teeth allows for an astonishingly thin profile of 11mm for the main body and 13mm including the back pocket.

The size of the wallet body was adjusted in 1mm increments after repeated checks for usability.

Easy Access to Important Cards

When you open the zipper, you'll find a dedicated "VIP card" pocket prominently located on the front of the coin purse.

This pocket holds 2-3 cards.

Let's store frequently used "VIP cards" in this VIP section.

There are two card pockets deep inside, each capable of holding about 3 cards stacked, for a total of approximately 6 cards.

The card pockets have ample width, so you can also store cards slightly larger than credit cards.

Less Card Marks Over Time

There are no card pockets on the front of the main body.

This prevents card and coin impressions from affecting the exterior, so the leather will not deform even after long use.

Overwhelmingly Easy-to-Use Coin Purse

When you open the zipper, a large-capacity coin purse space opens wide.

The coin purse does not have a zipper, but rest assured that it is designed to prevent coins from spilling into other compartments when the outer zipper is closed.
