The "Nouvelle" series, meaning "new" in French.

This long wallet was newly designed from scratch to create a new standard for long wallets at Philosophy.

It is a compact wallet that fits into small bags and is compatible with the cashless trend.

The small zippered long wallet "Nouvelle ZIP" achieves the smallest and thinnest class for a zippered long wallet.

Amazingly small and thin

The "Nouvelle ZIP" is not only the smallest class for a zippered type, but it is also even thinner than the small leather flap long wallet "Nouvelle" (approx. 20mm thick), achieving an overwhelming compactness with a thickness of 13mm.

Once you use it, you won't be able to go back to a large, heavy long wallet; it's a mini long wallet that will change your lifestyle.

At approximately the same size as a 10,000 yen bill (width 160mm x height 76mm), this wallet (width 165mm x height 83mm) is the minimum size for a zippered long wallet.

Minimalist and Luxurious

Small wallets often tend to look cheap. If you prioritize miniaturization and weight reduction, using thin leather or omitting lining to cut costs can result in a wallet that looks inexpensive.

"Nouvelle ZIP" is crafted with a luxurious finish by applying Philosophy's many years of expertise in custom leather product manufacturing to high-quality Japanese leather.

While using soft shrink leather that feels good in the hand as the main material, it is reinforced with appropriate interlining to maintain its shape even after long use, and the interior uses firm embossed leather.

Despite its small size, this wallet allows you to feel the high quality texture of genuine leather and the excellence of its craftsmanship.

Convenient back pocket

A large pocket has been added to the back exterior.

The pocket is 150mm wide, making it very convenient for temporarily storing receipts, tickets, and more.

The back pocket is seamlessly connected to the wallet body, which keeps it thin and gives it an inconspicuous and smart appearance.

Bills can be separated into two compartments

We have achieved both the common request to "separate bills into two compartments" and the miniaturization of the wallet, which we frequently received when taking many wallet orders, through a unique structure.

There are bill compartments on both the front and back sides of the coin purse, allowing for flexible use such as separating bills, or separating bills and receipts.

The seamless gusset design inherits the aesthetic of Philosophy's long-selling Fleur wallet.

The absence of seams in the gusset allows banknotes to fit securely to the back, contributing to the wallet's compact size.

The partition between banknotes and coins is not fixed and can move freely, ensuring that banknotes fit all the way in even when the quantity increases.

The secret to a zipper that doesn't snag bills

When using a small zippered wallet, the biggest concern is whether the zipper will damage bills.

To balance the miniaturization of the wallet body with the ease of use of the zipper, "Nouvelle ZIP" uses a rare [YKK Excella No. 2 zipper] for wallets.

Compared to zippers commonly used in long wallets (No. 3 or No. 5 zippers), the No. 2 zipper has narrower metal teeth and a smaller slider, making it less likely to snag bills.

Furthermore, the narrow width of the metal teeth allows for an astonishing thinness of 11mm for the main body and 13mm including the back pocket.

The size of the wallet body was adjusted in 1mm increments while repeatedly checking usability.

Easy access to important cards

When you open the zipper, there's a dedicated "VIP card" pocket prominently placed in front of the coin purse.

This pocket can hold 2-3 cards.

Keep your frequently used "VIP cards" in this VIP spot.

There are two card pockets at the back of the interior, each capable of holding about 3 cards stacked, for a total of approximately 6 cards.

The card pockets are wide enough to accommodate cards slightly larger than credit cards.

Less likely to show card marks over time

There are no card pockets on the front of the main body.

This prevents card and coin impressions from showing through to the exterior, so the leather will not deform even after long use.

Amazingly easy-to-use coin purse

When you open the zipper, a large-capacity coin purse space opens wide.

Not only coins, but also bills and cards are clearly visible.

Overwhelming capacity. It's fine to put this many coins in (though it will get heavy).

The coin purse does not have a zipper, but rest assured that it is designed so that coins will not spill into other compartments when the outer zipper is closed.
