The "Nouvelle" series, meaning "new" in French.

This long wallet was designed from scratch to become a new standard for Philosophia long wallets.

It's a compact wallet that fits into small bags and is suitable for a cashless lifestyle.

The small zippered long wallet "Nouvelle ZIP" achieves the smallest and thinnest dimensions for a zippered long wallet.

Amazingly small and thin

While being the smallest class of zippered wallets, "Nouvelle ZIP" is even thinner than the small leather flap long wallet "Nouvelle" (approx. 20mm thick), achieving an overwhelming compactness of just 13mm thick.

Once you use it, you won't want to go back to large, heavy long wallets. It's a mini long wallet that will change your lifestyle.

At approximately the same size as a 10,000 yen bill (160mm width x 76mm height) – specifically, 165mm width x 83mm height – it is the smallest possible size for a zippered long wallet.

Minimalist and luxurious

Small wallets can often look cheap. When prioritizing miniaturization and lightness, using thin leather or omitting lining to cut costs can result in a wallet that feels inexpensive.

The "Nouvelle ZIP" is crafted with a luxurious finish, utilizing high-quality Japanese leather and the manufacturing techniques Philosophia has cultivated over many years of bespoke leather product creation.

While using soft, supple shrink leather as the main material, it is reinforced with appropriate interlining to prevent it from losing its shape even after long use, and the interior uses firm embossed leather.

Despite its small size, it's a wallet where you can feel the high-quality texture of genuine leather and excellent craftsmanship.

Convenient back pocket

We added a large pocket on the back exterior.

The pocket is 150mm wide, making it very convenient for temporarily storing receipts, tickets, etc.

The back pocket is seamlessly connected to the wallet body, which keeps the thickness down and gives it a discreet and smart appearance.

Bills can be separated into two compartments

We have received many requests to "separate bills into two compartments" from customers who have ordered many wallets from us, and we have achieved this alongside miniaturization of the wallet with our unique structure.

There are two bill compartments, one in front of the coin purse and one behind, allowing for flexible use such as separating bills or separating bills and receipts.

The seamless gusset design is inherited from Philosophia's long-selling wallet "Fleur."

The seamless gusset allows bills to fit deeply inside, contributing to the wallet's compact size.

The divider between bills and coins is not fixed and moves freely, allowing bills to fit securely even when their quantity increases.

The secret of the zipper that doesn't catch bills

The most common concern when using a small zippered wallet is whether the zipper will damage bills.

To balance the miniaturization of the wallet body with ease of use of the zipper, "Nouvelle ZIP" employs a rare choice for wallets: the [YKK Excella No. 2 zipper].

Compared to zippers typically used in long wallets (No. 3 or No. 5 zippers), the No. 2 zipper has a narrower hardware width and a smaller slider size, making it less likely to catch bills.

Furthermore, the narrow hardware width contributes to the overwhelming thinness of the main body, at 11mm, and 13mm including the back pocket.

The size of the wallet body was adjusted in 1mm increments through repeated usability checks.

Easy access to important cards

When you open the zipper, there's a dedicated "VIP card" pocket located prominently in front of the coin purse.

This pocket holds 2 to 3 cards.

Store your frequently used "VIP cards" in this VIP spot.

There are two card pockets deep inside, each capable of holding about 3 stacked cards, for a total of approximately 6 cards.

The card pockets have ample width, so you can also store cards slightly larger than credit cards.

Less card indentation with age

There are no card pockets on the front of the main body.

This ensures that marks from cards or coins do not appear on the surface, preventing the leather from deforming over long-term use.

Overwhelmingly easy-to-use coin purse

When you open the zipper, a large, wide-opening coin purse space is revealed.

Not only coins, but also bills and cards are visible at a glance.

Overwhelmingly large capacity. It's perfectly fine to put this many coins in (though it will get heavy).

The coin purse does not have a zipper, but rest assured that it is designed so that coins will not leak into other compartments when the outer zipper is closed.
