The "Nouvelle" series, meaning "new" in French.

This long wallet was designed from scratch to create a new standard for Philosophy's long wallets.

It is a compact wallet that fits into small bags and accommodates the growing trend toward cashless payments.

The small zippered long wallet, "Nouvelle ZIP," is one of the smallest and thinnest zippered long wallets available.

Remarkably Small and Thin

Although it is one of the smallest zippered wallets, Nouvelle ZIP is even thinner than the small leather flap long wallet, Nouvelle (approximately 20 mm thick), with a thickness of just 13 mm and an exceptionally compact design.

Once you use it, you will never want to go back to a large, heavy long wallet. This mini long wallet will change your lifestyle.

It is almost the same size as a 10,000 yen bill (160 mm wide x 76 mm high) and is one of the smallest zippered long wallets available (165 mm wide x 83 mm high).

Minimalist and Luxurious

Small wallets can often look cheap. If they are made too thin by using thin leather or omitting a lining to reduce costs, they can end up looking inexpensive.

Nouvelle ZIP is crafted with high-quality Japanese leather and Philosophy's long-established expertise in making custom leather goods, giving it a luxurious finish.

The main material is soft, supple shrink leather that molds to your hand, while appropriate stiffeners prevent it from losing its shape over time. The interior is made with crisp, embossed leather.

Despite its small size, this wallet allows you to feel the premium texture and excellent craftsmanship of genuine leather.

Convenient Back Pocket

The back of the wallet features a large pocket.

The pocket is 150 mm wide and is very convenient for temporarily storing receipts and tickets.

The back pocket is seamlessly integrated with the wallet, keeping it slim and giving it a sleek, unobtrusive appearance.

Two Bill Compartments

Through years of taking custom wallet orders, we found that many customers wanted to keep their bills in two separate places. Our unique design combines this request with a compact wallet.

With bill compartments at the front and back of the coin pocket, you can flexibly keep bills separate or store bills and receipts in different places.

The seamless gusset is a design inspired by Philosophy's long-selling wallet, Fleur.

The seamless gusset allows bills to fit securely all the way to the back, helping to keep the wallet compact.

The divider between bills and coins is not fixed and can move freely, so bills will fit securely all the way to the back even when you carry several.

The Secret Behind a Zipper That Won't Bite Bills

When using a small zippered wallet, the biggest concern is whether the zipper will damage your bills.

To combine a compact wallet with an easy-to-use zipper, Nouvelle ZIP uses a rare No. 2 YKK Excella zipper.

Compared to the zippers commonly used in long wallets (No. 3 or No. 5), the No. 2 zipper has narrower teeth and a smaller slider, making it less likely to bite bills.

The narrower teeth also allow the wallet to be exceptionally thin, measuring just 11 mm thick and 13 mm thick including the back pocket.

The size of the wallet was adjusted in 1 mm increments after repeatedly checking its usability.

Easy Access to Important Cards

A dedicated pocket for important "VIP cards" is located in a prominent position on the front of the coin pocket, where the zipper opens.

This pocket holds 2–3 cards.

Store your most frequently used "VIP cards" in this VIP seat.

There are two card pockets deep inside, each holding 3 cards, for a total capacity of about 6 cards.

The card pockets are wide enough to accommodate cards slightly larger than credit cards.

Minimal Card Marks Over Time

There is no card pocket on the front of the wallet.

The wallet is designed so that the outlines of cards and coins do not show on the outside, preventing the leather from deforming over time.

Exceptionally Easy-to-Use Coin Pocket

When opened, the large coin pocket opens wide, providing ample space.

Bills and cards are also clearly visible, not just coins.

It has an exceptionally large capacity. You can store this many coins without any problem (although it will be heavier).

Although the coin pocket does not have its own zipper, it is designed so that coins cannot fall into other compartments when the outer zipper is closed, giving you peace of mind.
