Handbag leather class has started

Today we held the first handbag leather class.

The instructor is craftsman Matsui.

It seems like everyone enjoyed making the craft in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere👍

(I wanted to convey the atmosphere of the classroom in photos, but I didn't have time to take any.)

We all started with the same assignment: making a simple pass case.

A rough outline of the production process:

Making a pattern → Cutting the leather → Skiving the leather (processing the thickness) → Edge finishing → Assembly → Sewing (hand stitching) → Edge finishing

Today we made the pattern and progressed to the middle of assembly.

If all goes smoothly, it will be completed next week.

I'd like you to make it for yourself.

It is surprisingly difficult to make beautiful patterns.

If the pattern is distorted, the leather will also be distorted, so making a beautiful pattern is a very important skill.
